Jat, bright colors that shows a traditionally clothed Israeli family at home, set against a landscape of fields and trees. Later work is more freely executed, as exemplified by In Galilee (1971, Collection of House Rubin, Israel), in which a deeper and more luminous landscape gives a sense of mystntry. Rubin’s eager acceptance of its character and its people, both Arab and Jewish, had an important influence on the development of later Israeli art.
